About Us

OUR MISSION. Northwest Battle Buddies gifts professionally trained service dogs to Veterans who are battling PTSD, helping them to regain their freedom and independence.

OUR URGENCY. Today, on American soil, post-traumatic stress will cause 20 Veterans to end their own lives by suicide. For many of our combat Veterans the battle continues. Though they have left the battlefield, the battle persists in the form of combat-induced post-traumatic stress. It is estimated that 11 – 20% of Veterans develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. PTSD is a serious and potentially debilitating condition that can occur in people who have experienced or witnessed dangerous, violent, or life-threatening events. Veterans battling PTSD may experience severe depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions, and are at increased risk of suicide.

OUR IMPACT.  There is no cure for PTSD, but there is hope. Our dogs faithfully and skillfully serve Veterans by helping them overcome the symptoms of PTSD and empower them to win their daily battles with this serious and debilitating condition.
